Embark on an authentic journey to the Native Community of Palma Real, located on the banks of the majestic Madre de Dios River, in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon. The tour begins in Puerto Maldonado with a boat trip of approximately between two and a half and three hours downstream, navigating through lush Amazonian landscapes, birds soaring overhead, and the vibrant energy of the tropical rainforest.
The final destination is a genuine encounter with the Ese Eja people, one of the most representative ancestral cultures of the Peruvian Amazon, known as “the guardians of the forest” for their deep connection with nature and the valuable knowledge they have preserved for generations.
During the visit, we will be welcomed by Shi’oi, an inspiring tourism initiative led by Ese Eja women artisans who proudly share their traditions, art, and way of life. The experience includes a warm welcome, interpretive walks, cultural storytelling, traditional dances, and handicraft workshops using seeds, fibers, and natural elements from the rainforest.
Every moment offers the opportunity to discover a living culture rich in identity, wisdom, and resilience, creating a meaningful connection between visitors and the local community.
More than just a tour, this experience is an opportunity to learn, share, and create a positive impact, directly contributing to the sustainable development of the community and the preservation of one of the Amazon’s greatest cultural treasures.
