Rolin Island + Native Family

(8 AM – 12:30 PM) (4 and a half hours)
DAILY Departures

We will begin our activity at 7:00 a.m. 1 hour boat trip awaits for you along the Madre de Dios River. We will immerse you in an exceptional natural environment, where you will have the opportunity to explore the diverse ecosystems of the island and marvel of the abundant wildlife, including a variety of birds and animal species.

More than four species of monkeys can be found on this island, from the brown capuchin (Cebus apella) to the white-fronted capuchin (Cebus albifrons) passing by the agile squirrel monkey (Saimiri boliviensis) and the tiny pichico monkey (Saguinus fuscicollis).

Afterwards, we will visit a Native Family that lives in the same sector of Rolin. They are one of the many ethnic groups that exist in the Peruvian Amazon; they will show you part of the cultural value of their ancestors: their language and customs, their clothing, their hunting arts, their crafts and the music they play during the ayahuasca ceremony. They will teach you how they take advantage of natural products to make tools, their homes, clothing and decorations, all of them important for their daily life.

We will be arriving back at the Lodge around 12:30 pm.

The Native Family and the little monkeys of Rolin Island are waiting for you!
